- Roll out a strip of translucent clay long enough to lay on top of the bracelet blank. Make the clay an even thickness (about 1/8″) using the pasta machine or a roller.
- Cover the translucent clay strip with very thin slices of your cane.
- Smooth the canes onto the clay strip with a roller or run it through the pasta machine on the largest setting.
- Gently wrap the bracelet with the cane covered strip.
- Using the sharp blade, carefully slice off the excess clay. Bake for 30 minutes.
- After the bracelet has cooled, apply gloss sealer if you like for a shiny finish.

this is absolutly beautiful. a very good project for a first year “clayperson”.
I wanted to use the bracelet blanks but wasn’t sure if you put clay on and left it or cut it off some how. And then, there it was in the tutorial. Thank you so much.
I have another request for a tutorial. At a workshop in Ga. Donna Kato was wearing a polymer cabachone ring she made. I’m sure there must have been some kind of ring form under it. But how to do such a thing is beyond me. Does anybody know????
Love the bracelet. I was wondering if you use anything on the bracelet blank to help the clay stick. If not have you had any problems with the clay coming off.
PolyBonder is a great adhesive to use on the bracelet blank before applying the clay. It can be baked and will insure that the clay will stay on the bracelet.
