Gold Leaf Donut Focal Beads

Materials
  • Gold Leaf
  • Cutting Blade
  • Scrap Clay
  • Sculpey III (about 1/8 of a package)
  • Paint Brush or something with a round end
  • Pasta Machine
  • Non-stick baking pan
  • Oven preheated to 275 degrees
Instructions
  • Start out with your scrap clay. Roll it into a ball.
  • Squish the ball so it is like a pancake.
  • Take the paintbrush handle(or whatever you’re using) and make a hole in the middle to make a donut shape.
  • Take your clay of the color you want the finished piece to be (the 1/8 package) and roll it in the pasta machine to around #4.
  • Take the gold leaf sheet and lay it on top of the rolled clay sheet. Once you lay it down it will not come off
  • Take the clay and leaf and roll it through the pasta machine again, working down to #1.
  • Cut the sheet to a size that will cover the donut.
  • Lay the sheet over the donut.
  • Push the middle down with the paintbrush handle.
  • Smooth the sides to the donut and cut off the excess clay.
  • Bake!
