An Easy Recipe for Turquoise look Polymer Clay

Faux Turquoise

Turquoise is a favorite among jewelry makers and with polymer clay you can make your own! Here’s a simple recipe.

Materials
Instructions
  • Combine two parts turquoise and one part white to make the turquoise color. Combine blue and a sliver of black to make a good dark blue. Use just a small ball of gold.

  • Roll each mixed color into a ball, place them in a plastic bag and put in the freezer until they have all hardened.

  • Using a clay dedicated food processor, chop the hardened pieces of clay (a clay dedicated hand grater can also be used).

  • Pack the clay shavings together, then cut slices of the mixture off and shape them into stones of different sizes.

  • Bake the “stones” at 275 degrees for 20 minutes. (These were baked on a skewer so they could be strung for a necklace later). After cooling, glaze with Sculpey glaze gloss.
