Mokume Gane ChestPolymer Clay Mokume Gane is an imitation of the traditional Japanese metal working craft. In clay, very thin layers are stacked with metal leaf sheets and thinly sliced to reveal the shimmery layers underneath. This effect on a paper mache trinket box makes a very interesting little keepsake! |

How do you attach the clay to the paper mache’ box? Do you remove the box after the clay has been baked or is it a permanent part?
Thanks,
John
The box is a permanent part of the piece. I just pressed the clay onto the box and baked. You can also use a layer of liquid clay like glue on the box and then lay the clay pieces over it, or, Polybonder glue works well also as an adhesive and can withstand the oven temperature.

Susan
