How to Make a Mug of Hot Chocolate out of Polymer Clay

Instructions
  • Using any colour of polymer clay, roll out a ball of the clay and then shape flatten both ends. Taper the bottom end and place it on the table, so the larger flat side is at the top.

  • Make the same shape as before, but make it much smaller, and make the wider flattened side be on the bottom. Attach the tapered end to the bottom of the mug.

  • Roll out a thin rope of the same colour and wrap it around the bottom of the mug.

  • Mix some brown clay with some liquid sculpey to make the hot chocolate. Spread it on top of the mug, so that it stays within the top shape.

  • Make another rope of the mug colour and wrap it around the rim of the top of the mug.

  • Make small thick rope of clay, and attach it to the side of the mug for a handle.

  • Mix white clay with liquid sculpey to make the whipped cream. Pile the whipped cream over the edges of the mug.Play with the whipped cream so that it forms peaks in some spots. Even let some flow over the edges.

  • To make some hazelnuts to go with the hot chocolate, make a few tiny balls of brown and a few tiny balls of a lighter brown.

  • Flatten out the light brown and add them to the tops of the hazelnuts. Then slightly flatten them out.

  • Place two hazelnuts into the mug, and place some at the base of the mug. The mug of Hazelnut hot chocolate is done!
