- Run the coloured clay through a pasta machine or roll them out into long rectangles, long enough to wrap around the white rectangles.
|
| |
 |
- Wrap the colours rectangles around the white rectangles.
|
| |
 |
- Using a sharp tool, draw a spine on the side of the book. Using the same sharp tool, draw several small lines on the sides of the white pages of the book. Using small bits of coloured clay, add some details to the spine and the covers of the books.

Do you ever have trouble with your white clay turning a purple color? If you have how did you remendy that problem? By the way I love your books
hello!

I dont have any problems with my white clay turning any colour, because I always wipe my hands off beofre I use white clay. White clay picks up everything :)Its a good idea to keep some wet-wipes or a wet cloth by your workspace to kepp your hands clean while you are working
Im glad you like the books!
Cathy, you could also cure the pages of the book first, and add the covers later, preventing the white picking up any of the colours.
These books are adorable! I’m going to make them with chains and heavy duty clasps. Won’t they be cute hanging from a student’s backpack? Thanks for this great idea!
